Hyderabad Quack's Clinic Raided, Multiple Medicines Seized by Authorities

Hyderabad: The Drugs Control Administration raided a quack’s clinic at Serilingampally and seized drugs stocked for sale. Officials nabbed the quack identified as Mohd Abdul Wajeed who claimed to be a registered medical practitioner and was running the Life Care First Aid Centre.

The seized drugs include 33 varieties of medicines including antibiotics, cough syrups, antacids, anti-ulcer and antihypertensive drugs, etc, said DCA Director V.B. Kamalasan Reddy.

Reddy said that they have been constantly on the vigil to detect unlicensed stocking and sale of medicines by quacks. “DCA has intensified surprise checks on such unqualified persons who are carrying out stocking and sale of drugs without any drug licence. Stocking of drugs for sale without a drug licence is punishable under Drugs and Cosmetics Act with an imprisonment up to five years,” he added.
