Hyderabad: The sight of a cobra at the busy Chilkalguda crossroads near the Secunderabad railway station startled motorists and passersby on Saturday morning. Traffic personnel who spotted the cobra, called in Venkatesh Naik, a constable from Malakpet police, to rescue the snake.

Apart from wooded areas and those that are fenced off, there is a large drain near the crossroads.
