HYDERABAD: The Republic of Botswana on Friday appointed Supreme Court advocate Shetty Udaya Kumar Sagar as honorary consul for the state of Telangana. He was appointed at a launching ceremony held here, Gilbert Shimane Mangole, High Commissioner, Republic of Botswana, officially appointed Uday Kumar as honorary consul.
Mangole said, "India and Botswana have been important strategic partners and enjoyed cordial relations since Botswana achieved its independence in 1966. We are confident, the appointment of Uday Kumar Sagar as honorary consul in Telangana, will help both Botswana and India in exploring new opportunities in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, education, health, IT, and other areas."
