Telangana Formation Day celebrated with pomp in erstwhile Adilabad

ADILABAD: The people of the erstwhile Adilabad district along with elected representatives and officials celebrated the 10th anniversary of Telangana Formation Day in a festive mood on Friday.

Collectorates as also other offices were decorated tastefully and some of them were illuminated.

MLAs and other speakers said the ruling BRS was committed to the integrated development of the assembly constituencies.

Government whip and Chennur MLA Balka Suman was the chief guest for Mancherial and MLC Sunkari Raju for Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Indrakaran Reddy for Nirmal and MLA Gampa Goverdhan for Adilabad districts for the event and hoisted the national flag to mark the occasion.

They paid rich tributes to the Telangana martyrs. ZP chairman Rathod Janardhan, MLA Jogu Ramanna and collector Rahul Raj were present. Chief guests took the guard of honour from the police at these events.

Orally, the MLAs re-dedicated themselves to the causes of welfare and development of the downtrodden sections and reeled out the lists of the welfare schemes being implemented in their constituencies.

MLA Jogu Ramanna garlanded a portrait of freedom fighter the late Konda Laxman Bapuji and the statues of the late Prof Jayashankar and praised their services to the poor and for the creation of the Telangana state.

Along with other BRS leaders, MLA Jogu Ramanna hoisted the national flag at the party office.

Minister Indrakaran Reddy paid rich tributes to Telangana martyrs at the celebrations at the collectorate, Mini tank bund, and camp office in Nirmal. MLAs Vittal Reddy and Rekha Naik and collector Varun Reddy and SP Praveen were present.

MLAs Diwakar Rao, Durgam Chinnaiah, Koneru Konappa, Atram Sakku and respective ZP chairpersons Kova Laxmi and Bhagyalaxmi and collectors Badavath Santhosh in Mancherial were present along with collector Hemanth Bhorkade and SP Suresh Kumar.
