Case on Suresh Gopi for luxury SUV fraud

Mr Gopi had allegedly evaded tax by registering his luxury vehicle there after he became an MP on May 24, 2016.

Thiruvananthapuram: Crime branch on Friday registered a case against actor-turned politician Suresh Gopi for registering his luxury SUV under a false addresse in Puducherry. Transport commissioner Anil Kant asked the crime brach to register the case. Mr Gopi had allegedly evaded tax by registering his luxury vehicle there after he became an MP on May 24, 2016.

Motor vehicles department had sent a notice to the MP asking him to furnish details regarding the registration. While owners will have to shell out Rs. 14 lakh to register luxury vehicles in Kerala, one need to pay only Rs. 1.5 lakh to do register in Puducherry.
