NELLORE: Devotional fervour marked Vinayaka Chavithi festivities in SPSR Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati and Prakasam districts on Wednesday.
In Tirupati, Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple remained the focal point of festivities. Later in the evening, Lord Vinayaka got taken on a procession mounted on Mooshika Vahanam.
Similarly, Vinayaka Chavithi puja was held in the premises of S.V. Vedic University in Tirupati, with faculty and students participating.
In Nellore and Ongole, people made a bee-line to see different varieties of Ganesh idols installed in various parts of the two cities on Wednesday and Thursday. Main thoroughfares remained packed with families moving from one pandal to another with enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, Nellore rural legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has inspected arrangements for immersion of Vinayaka idols in Nellore tank.
It turned out to be a field day for vendors of fruits, flowers, puja material and Ganesh idols.
