Visakhapatnam: The ordeal that a pregnant woman of remote Jarimanuguda village in Arakuloya mandal of Alluri Sitarama Raju district went through has once again ignited the demand for improved road facilities in the agency areas.
Poya Swati had developed complications during her pregnancy and had to be rushed to the Gannela medical centre in Arakuloya mandal for treatment.
Swati’s family had no choice but to embark on a gruelling seven-kilometre journey with her on foot. The excruciating trek that she had to take caused her extreme distress and pain. This has sparked outrage among residents of Jarimanuguda and surrounding areas
They have demanded that the state government provide necessary road facilities immediately to ensure that such life-threatening journeys become a thing of the past.
