Administration fascist, getting worse: Uttam Kumar Reddy

The state government was resorting to unlawful and undemocratic means by suppressing the people.

Hyderabad: Stating that the people of Telangana were experiencing the “worst-ever administration in the state”, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday said that the Congress will bring to the notice of the Governor the “undemocratic and fascist nature” of the TRS government in curbing human rights in the state. He was referring to the blockade of roads leading to villages that will be submerged if the proposed Mallannasagar project in Medak district goes ahead.

Speaking to newsmen at the Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Mr Reddy, who has recently recovered from dengue, said that without preparing the Detailed Project Report for any project, without convincing people and political parties on the need to acquire huge tracts of land for the redesigned projects, the state government was resorting to unlawful and undemocratic means by suppressing the people who wanted to visit the villages to know the facts.

He said that the police cordoning off all the villages and barring entry to outsiders was nothing but a violation of human rights. The TPCC chief alleged that irrigation minister T. Harish Rao was threatening farmers and summoning them to Siddipet to forcibly obtain consent letters for land acquisition for the Mallannasagar project. He said that this was nothing but a fascist act.
Coming down heavily on the functioning of the state government, particularly on the Eamcet-2 question paper leak, the PCC president demanded dismissal of ministers Kadiam Srihari and C. Laxma Reddy for their negligence in prevention the leak and failure to act. “The two ministers should either resign or the Chief Minister should sack them. Their negligence caused mental agony to hundreds of students,” Mr Reddy said.
