Masthan Submits Interim Report on Lankan Tamils Welfare

Chennai: State Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare, K S Masthan, submitted the interim report on the legal solutions for Sri Lankan Tamils to Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday.

The report looked into the long-term needs of the Sri Lankan Tamils living in Tamil Nadu, who had been provided basic facilities for a livelihood in the State. The report looked into their educational requirements and future of their children, an official press release said.

As of now 58,351 Sri Lankan Tamils were accommodated in rehabilitation camps in the State and 34,497 others were living in camps with police registration, it added.
