Andhra Pradesh: Modi fails in his de-mon step, says Raghuveera

“The Rs 2,000 new currency reached terrorists and other big shots prior to replenishing the ATM kiosks,â€Mr Reddy observed.

Anantapur: APCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy lambasted the Centre over the concept of demonetisation as new Rs 2,000 currency notes had reached terrorist outfits in advance than the customers at the banks. “The Rs 2,000 new currency reached terrorists and other big shots prior to replenishing the ATM kiosks,” Mr Reddy observed.

Speaking to media after taking part in the Congress Formation Day celebrations at the District Congress Committee office here on Wednesday, Mr Raghuveera Reddy pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured massive change and reforms along with benefits to the people of country while announcing demonetisation of '1,000 and '500 currency notes.

“The Prime Minister sought 50 days time from the people, who were still standing in long queues to get just '2,000 from the ATM counters. This clearly proves total failure of the Central government experiment and keeping people in dark,” Mr Reddy alleged.

He further observed that even the fake currency was also deposited in the banks during post-demonetisation announcement. The APCC chef demanded probe with the SC Judge into the demonetisation that opened doors for large scale irregularities.

Reacting over escalation in the estimates of Polavaram project, the PCC chief said the cost of project enhanced to '40,000 crore from the earlier estimates of Rs 11,000 crore and the governments were violating norms.
