Women are better managers of financial matters: K Chandrasekhar Rao

In developed countries, men and women do equal work.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday said that women were better managers of financial matters than men and urged the village women to take up responsibility.

“Women are best (financial) managers. Yet men dominate them. Women run household better. They are very careful in spending, know how to raise children etc. In developed countries, men and women do equal work. 90 per cent of pilots in Russia are women. Indira Gandhi ruled the country effectively. You work in fields and leave financial and household matters to women,” the CM advised men. He added, “If the family is happy, everyone will be happy.”

Mr Rao said that he was very happy to see all water bodies full after several years in the state, including his adopted villages Narasannapet and Erravalli. “TS will get Godavari waters within two years,” he said.

“You will get Godavari waters in two years time after completion of the Kaleswaram project. Mallannasagar issue will be sorted out in next three days. We got good rains after two years. Tanks, rivulets are full. Groundwater has gone up. Let’s all express gratitude to Ammavaru (Goddess),” the CM said.

“You did not believe me when I predicted good rainfall and floods this season. Scientists say it’s due to La Nina effect. Drought occurs due to El Nino climatic changes and rains due to La Nina. It’s a cycle of six to 12 years. After two years, we don’t have to look towards the sky since we will get Godavari waters,” Mr Rao told Erravalli residents after reviewing ongoing housing and other developmental works with officials.

Reminding the success of collective farming in cash-rich Ankapur village in Nizamabad district and his own version in Siddipet, he asked the villagers to follow suit to become cash rich and improve living standards.

“Sink differences and work collectively. Begin with this harvesting season of maize, soya bean etc by dividing work. I will join you. You can finish harvesting in entire village in 10/15 days instead of normal one month and save crops from hailstorms and other calamities,” Mr Rao said.
