Stick to rules: Naidu to Telangana on sharing rivers

Naidu on Saturday told the Telangana govt not to build projects on interstate rivers unilaterally.

Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday told the TS government not build projects on interstate rivers unilaterally and advised it to take permission from the apex body and the boards for-med under the bifurcation Act before going ahead with projects on the Krishna and Godavari.

Speaking on a resolution passed on the subject at the Maha-nadu, Mr Naidu said AP and TS should use river water in a justifiable manner. While proposing the resolution, TS TD leader Revuri Prakash Reddy questioned the TRS government rationale behind coming up with new projects without completing the pending schemes. He said that half of the irrigation problems in Telangana state would be addr-essed if the pending projects were completed. He alleged TS CM K. Chandra-sekhar Rao was starting the projects for “selfish reasons.”
