Bommai takes swipe at rumblings in Congress

Haveri: Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai took a swipe at the Congress party, highlighting the lack of coordination between its legislators and ministers.

"The Congress MLAs and ministers seem to be lacking coordination entirely. Despite attempts by the Chief Minister to pacify the MLAs, it has not yielded results. From the very beginning, there has been confusion in the appointment of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, cabinet formation, and even in the implementation of guarantee schemes," Bommai told reporters at Haveri today.

The former Chief Minister pointed out the recent meeting convened to address these issues but mentioned that the MLAs remained dissatisfied, indicating a deeper problem within the party.

He emphasized that if this level of confusion exists among senior MLAs, it raises questions about the situation faced by newly elected MLAs as well. The overall state of the government has been mired in confusion since its inception, according to Bommai.

Switching focus to the recent rainfall-related damage in the state, Bommai urged the government to address the issues promptly.

"Farmers had recently suffered due to water scarcity, affecting their sowing activities, and now excessive rainfall has caused extensive damage in various parts of North Karnataka," he said.

He urged the government to provide proper compensation, similar to what was offered during BJP's tenure in power.

Bommai also called for swift evacuation measures for those likely to be affected by floods, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

Despite these pressing matters, he accused the Congress of being in a state of international confusion, possibly alluding to the party's internal disarray impacting its decision-making.

Meanwhile, Bommai attacked the Congress on its stance towards internal reservation. "We made a recommendation to the central government for amending the Constitution and implementing internal reservation. We are committed to this cause and do not need to take lessons from Congress. Their stance against internal reservation has been revealed," he further stated.
