Two BSP MLAs accuse Mayawati of selling tickets, suspended

The two MLAs also admitted that money was being taken for tickets for the assembly elections.

Lucknow: In a fresh jolt to the Bahujan Samaj party, two of its legislators, on Wednesday, came out to condemn the slogans raised by party workers against the female members of the family of expelled BJP leader Daya Shankar Singh.

The BSP MLA Romi Sahni and Brijesh Varma told reporters at a press conference that all slogans are given to party workers by the party leadership. The two MLAs also admitted that money was being taken for tickets for the assembly elections.

Mr Romi Sahni belongs to Lakhimpur and Brijesh Varma comes from Hardoi.
Mr Brijesh Varma said that he was asked to pay Rs 4 crore to the party fund for getting the assembly ticket while Mr Sahni said that the ticket from his constituency was given to another person for RS 5 crore.

“If Ms Mayawati stops selling tickets and selects deserving candidates, she has the potential of becoming prime minister one day. We did not have to pay money in 2012 because it was former BSP MP Jugal Kishore who had got us tickets but this time, it is a different situation,” the legislators said.
