More congress, Desam leaders join BJP in Telangana

After winning four Lok Sabha seats, the BJP has concentrated on strengthening the party in TS.

Hyderabad: Migrations from other parties to the BJP in Telangana state continued on Thursday with several TS Telugu Desam and Congress leaders joining up on Thursday.

Former ministers E. Peddi Reddy, Boda Janar-dhan, former MP Chada Suresh Reddy, former MLA P. Sashidhar Reddy and TPCC leader Shaik Rahamathulllah joined the BJP in the presence of party general secretary Muralidhar Rao in Delhi.

After winning four Lok Sabha seats, the BJP has concentrated on strengthening the party in TS.

Telangana state BJP president K. Laxman, who was present on the occasion, said more leaders would join the BJP in the coming days. “This is only the beginning; there will be more admissions in future,” he said.

Dr Laxman pointed out that in the Lok Sabha elections the BJP had defeated key TRS leaders K. Kavitha and B. Vinod Kumar.

He said that the leaders were not able to digest the dictatorial attitude of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and were joining the BJP.

Dr Laxman said Mr Rao was wasting public money in the name of construction of new buildings.
