New Laws to be Introduced in India for Better Policing: Amit Shah

Hyderabad: At the time the Parliamentary standing committee is scheduled a meeting to adopt new laws in Delhi on Friday, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah today stressed the need to implement new Laws such as the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Bill 2023 replacing the existing Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the Indian Evidence Act.

The Union Home Union Minister reviewed the passing out parade of the 75 batch of IPS probationers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVP NPA) here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Shah said that the IPS probationers, who finished training at the National Police Academy, will have to implement new laws which are being implemented by the governments. The governments would introduce new technology in the regular policing system to combat cyber offences, and criminals.

The Police technology would play a major role and the police would face bigger challenges with cyber-crime and terrorism. The government would not tolerate terrorism activities.

"The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Bill 2023 replacing the existing Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the Indian Evidence Act. The government is keen to introduce such Acts in India and the passing out IPS probationers must implement such Laws for better policing in the country," Amit Shah said.

The Union Home Minister also stated that several organized crimes, crypto currency, fake currency, hawala transactions, Inter-state offenders, narcotic substances peddling are posing a major challenge for the country and the regular policing system must transform toward police technology to prevent such illegal activities in the country.

"The ensuing 25 years (Amrit Kaal) will create the nation as a superpower country in terms of developments and India will stand top in the world. The police system will get more changes and new Acts, technology and regular policing to serve better for the people," Amit Shah said.

Stating that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives top priority for women empowerment, the Union Home Minister praised Anushtha Kalia of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories cadre for standing top place in a training session held at National Police Academy.

A total 175 IPS probationers of 75th batch Regular recruit (RR) have participated in passing out parade held at the NPA. Of the 175, 34 probationers were women and 155 were men and 20 were foreigners. Five probationers from Nepal, Six from Royal Bhutan and Five from Maldives and four from Mauritius.

The IPS probationer Anushtha Kalia received Sword of Honour from Union Home Minister for standing top in all over training in the police academy.

Later, Amit Shah inaugurated FitRise 75 at the stadium of the academy for running practice. A total of 4 lakh people including staff of NPA registered as members for seeking participation in the programme. The 74 batch IPS probationers have participated in the programme.
