Amit Shah to be first passenger at Kannur airport

Mr Shah is scheduled to inaugurate the BJP district committee office in Kannur.

Kannur: BJP national president Amit Shah would walk away with the credit of being the first passenger to be landing at the Kannur International Airport Limited (KIAL) here. He would land at the airport in a special flight of private airlines group AR Airlines on Saturday.

This is the second visit of Mr Shah to the Marxist citadel. The earlier one was in protest against the murder politics of CPM when he walked into the CPM heart-land of Pinarayi, leading a party protest march against ‘Marxist murder politics’ in January this year.

Though KIAL authorities had an attempt to check the move citing that the inauguration is yet to be over, the Airport Authority of India directed the KIAL authorities to make arrangements for the landing of Mr Shah's flight.

Meanwhile the BJP workers are in an upbeat mood in Kannur. Landing the airport at 10 am, he is expected to reach Kannur by 11 am. BJP state leadership is camping in Kannuelrbto make the event a big success.
