Kiran Bedi pays tribute to Kargil martyrs

Puducherry salutes its bravest who laid down their lives for future generations to live with honour, later tweeted Ms Bedi.

Puducherry: Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, ministers, senior officials, and retired army officials paid floral tributes to Kargil martyrs here on Wednesday on the 18th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The Lt Governor placed wreath on the memorial and stood in silence for a few minutes recalling the sacrifices made by the Army personnel during the Kargil war.

“I have already asked DGP to ensure that a wreath is placed every day at the memorial by the police headquarters,” said the Lt Governor.

Besides Bedi, PWD minister A. Namassivayam, agriculture minister R. Kamalakannan, industries minister M.O.H.F. Shah Jahan, Deputy Speaker V.P. Sivakolundhu, Secretary to finance V. Candavelou, other senior officials of the administration paid tributes to the martyrs of Kargil war.
