Telangana: Gate-2017 results declared

IIT-Roorkee, the organising institute this year, declared the results a day before the scheduled date of March 27.

Hyderabad: The results of GATE-2017 were declared on Sunday. IIT-Roorkee, the organising institute this year, declared the results a day before the scheduled date of March 27.

TIME president M.V. Reddy said details are yet to emerge as candidates have been trying to check scores on the website which has become slow due to heavy traffic. He said that every year 100 to 150 students from Telugu states get ranks above thousand across the 23 MTech streams. The number of PG seats on offer in IITs, NITs, IITs and other varsities is around 12,000, he said.

Yash Bansal, a final year student of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), got rank 116 in ECE. He said that he would like to join M.Tech in microelectronics at IISc Bengaluru or IIT-Bombay. His dream is to get into ISRO and do research. GATE 2017 was held on February 4, 5, 11 and 12
