Telangana Republic day parade: Jammu and Kashmir brigade wins 1st prize

The 18 Dogra Regiment (76 Infantry Brigade) was the runner-up at the TS Republic Day ceremonial parade on Thursday.

Hyderabad: The 6 Jak Li (47 Infantry Brigade) of Jammu and Kashmir bagged the first prize while the 18 Dogra Regiment (76 Infantry Brigade) was the runner-up at the TS Republic Day ceremonial parade on Thursday.
In the juniors category, NCC girls were adjudged winner while Telangana Social Welfare Residential Institutions Society was the runner-up.
Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan gave away awards to the best contingents including an appreciation trophy to Odisha State Police, which participated in the programme for the first time.
Meanwhile, scribes stood in protest throughout the Governor’s speech after the media box was pushed back to accommodate Mr Narasimhan’s family and the entry point changed.
