Two youngsters drown trying to rescue horse from Eesa river

Hyderabad: In a heart-wrenching incident, Ashu Singh, a 19-year-old horse trainer from Rajasthan and his colleague Mohd Saif, 20, working with the Telangana Horse Riding Academy in Kismatpur were drowned when they tried to rescue the academy horse, Hercules, which slipped and fell into Eesa river late Wednesday evening. The horse also drowned.

The two had brought the nine-year-old Hercules on a stroll. An eyewitness, Asif, alerted police and the locals.

According to police, the academy owner Mohd Azam has been into equestrian training.

Asif told police that the horse first ran into the water and got stuck and when Ashu dived to rescue the animal he got stuck in the silt. Saif, the owner’s brother, met a similar fate. Neither of them knew swimming.

Police called expert swimmers who brought out the bodies of the three.

Rajendra Nagar police registered a case and started investigation.
