Hyderabad floods: Pipeline at NTR marg replaced

Board managing director M. Dana Kishore said the work would be completed as soon as possible

Hyderabad: The Water and Sewerage Board on Saturday laid a new pipeline at NTR Marg, where a sinkhole had appeared on Wednesday. Officials started work to repair the road.

Board managing director M. Dana Kishore said the work would be completed as soon as possible. He said a Delhi-based firm, TTI Engineers, had flown in CCTV equipment and had started assessing the condition of 1,800-mm diameter ‘A’ sewer main. It would also check up for the presence of silt.

On water supply, Mr Kishore said the board had increased chlorine dosage to maintain sufficient residual residual chlorine for tail-end consumers.
The board was taking twice the number of samples to check for chlorine in water.
