Rumours put TRS MLAs on the edge

Adilabad legislator lodges complaint with the DGP.

Adilabad: Rumours that some TRS MLAs were contemplating to switch loyalty to the BJP has put them on the edge.

On Saturday, Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna lodged a complaint with DGP Mahender Reddy appealing to him to take appropriate legal action against RBC TV channel which was telecasting fake news that was likely to join the BJP and also to check posts on the same on social media.

Mr Ramanna, in his complaint, stated that the fake news was causing a lot of tension and inconvenience to him. He alleged that the BJP leaders were spreading rumours to tarnish his image and reputation. There is a strong opinion among the TRS leaders that the BJP leaders are deliberately spreading rumours among the people that many TRS MLAs are in touch with BJP leadership and that they are likely to join their party soon.

The TRS MLAs feel that the BJP leaders were involved in spreading rumours not only to cause embarrassment to them but also to target the TRS top leadership. "The BJP leaders are trying to create a gap between the TRS MLAs and the party leadership this way," a TRS leader said.

The TRS leaders waiting to secure a prominent position in the party and a cabinet berth during expansion feel that the rumours were marring their opportunities as the TRS leadership might see them in a poor light and even disown them after losing lose faith in them.

These rumours, they feel, can even result in minorities distancing themselves from the TRS and also put the party leaders to loss.
