Kollam: Vidhash 2018 to be held on May 26, 27

The students of KSID will clean the beach with the participation of the public.

Kollam: Kerala State Institute of Design (KSID) in Kollam will organise ‘Vidhash 2018’ a design fest on the theme ‘Waste disposal and environmental awareness’ on May 26-27. The official inauguration of the programme will be held at Kollam beach on Friday evening.

The students of KSID will clean the beach with the participation of the public.

An installation using waste products and sand art ‘merging grains’ will also be set up in the beach as part of the inauguration to be conducted by district collector Dr. S. Karthikeyan IAS. Kollam Mayor V. Rajendrababu and actor Cuckoo Parameswaran will be the chief guest of the programme.

On May 26, a painting competition ‘Nostalgia’ based on the theme ‘old and new lifestyles’ will be conducted at Sambasivan square in Chinnakkada. ‘Crinkle’ an origami experience for children will be conducted on the same day at Ashramam children’s park. On May 27, ‘Junk park’ an awareness programme on waste disposal will be held near KSRTC bus stand which also will showcase an installation based on the theme.

The concluding ceremony will be held at the college campus in Chandanathoppe in which film maker Rajeev Anchal and Sreeram Venkitaraman IAS will take part.
