Guntur: Political leaders copy law exam, caught

Those caught copying were Mr Vali, Youth Congress leader Sk. Jilani and BJP leader Bhaskar Rao.

GUNTUR: News of copying during a Law exam by three political leaders, including a former legislator, created a flutter in Guntur city on Thursday.

Former MLA and Congress leader Sk. Mastan Vali and others were caught by the flying squad for copying during a Law exam at the AC College at Guntur.

Those caught copying were Mr Vali, Youth Congress leader Sk. Jilani and BJP leader Bhaskar Rao.

ANU exams squad head Dr G. Somaskhar said that the Law exam was underway in AC College and JKC College in Guntur.

He added that their squad conducted checks in AC College and caught Mr Vali, Mr Jilani and Mr Rao copying with the help of slips, which were recovered from them.

He added that the trio was writing their first year papers of Legal Language, Legal Writ-ing and English Compr-ehension.

The squad, comprising Mr Venkateswara Rao and Mr Someswara Rao, collected the answer papers and handed them over to the ANU exams committee along with the slips, suggesting that the three be debarred. Mr Vali, meanwhile, refuted copying charges and said that it was a political conspiracy.

Congress leader Sk. Mastan Vali said that he was writing the exams as usual and the squad had been trying to involve him in the mass copying case since three days. He said that on

Thursday the squad came to the examination hall, showed a slip that they said was his and asked him to hand over the paper and hall ticket.

He said the slip was not his and the answers on the slip didn’t match the question paper and alleged that some people were trying to destroy his political career. He added that he did not hand over the hall ticket and said that he would fight the fabricated charges.
