Visakhapatnam: The AP Junior Boy's national team has entered the semi-finals of BC Roy National Football Championship, outplaying Assam 1-0 on Friday at Rajkot.
Right from the time the match started, the Assam team struck well but Andhra Pradesh team put up a good defence. V. Kanakaraju (Jersey No: 4, Visakhapatnam) and goalkeeper P. Sai Sampath Raju (Jersey No. 20, East Godavari) played a key role in defending the opponents’ attack.
At the 44th min, G. Krishna Sai (Jersey No:10, Anantapur) kicked a goal. The goal was appreciated with thunderous applause.
In the second half, the Assam team was well equipped with strategies to regain control over the match, but the AP players were alert, particularly the goalkeeper was extraordinary. The game turned exciting and thrilling up to the last minute.
This was a remarkable win which caused a great sensation in the ground. The Andhra Pradesh team will play semi-finals on November 26. Match Result: Andhra Pradesh vs Assam. Andhra Pradesh won 1-0.
