Indian troops foil 2 attempts of infiltration from Pakistan in last 18 hours

Srinagar: The Indian troops have foiled two attempts of infiltration from Pakistan in the last 18 hours and pushed back intruders in Gulmarg and Nowgam sectors after heavy exchange of fire.

"#JKOps 2 infilt attempts foiled in last 18 hrs. Alert troops push back intruders in Gulmarg & Nowgam sects after heavy exch of fire @adgpi," posted the Northern Command of the Indian Army on its official Twitter handle.

On Tuesday, Indian Army jawans Grenadier Manoj Kumar Kushwah, Rifleman Prabhu Singh and Shashank Kumar Singh killed.

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday said that yesterday's attack on Indian soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district shows Pakistan's frustration and added that a befitting reply would be given to those responsible.

"The activities are taking place because Pakistan is frustrated. It is unfortunate, they are being replied accordingly. We will give them a befitting reply. Apt steps are being taken by the forces. The action taken is as per the need," he told the media outside Parliament.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr. Mohammad Faisal on Wednesday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh to register protest over alleged ceasefire violation by India.
