Bengaluru: Prem complains of derogatory comments after Villain release

Later talking to the media, Prem said, I am not against those who express their views about the movie.

Bengaluru: Prem, the director of a recently released Kannada movie Villain, has approached the West Division police, complaining that derogatory messages against the movie are being posted on his Facebook page.

On Tuesday, Prem met DCP (West) Ravi D. Channanavar and filed the complaint. Later talking to the media, he said, “I am not against those who express their views about the movie. But personal attacks should stop.”

He alleged that some fans have been targeting him and his family with personal and derogatory remarks.

The movie Villain, with Shivarajkumar and Sudheep in lead roles, was released last week and soon after, derogatory messages and videos started doing the rounds on social media.

Following the complaint, a noncognisable report was registered.
