Police Impose Restrictions on New Year Eve Celebrations in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: Police have issued a notification imposing restrictions on the New Year eve celebrations on December 31 night “as a precautionary measure.”

Hotel and bar and restaurant owners have been sensitised on supply of alcohol, drunken driving and other issues. They have been advised to get prior permission from police in case they are holding New Year celebrations.

As per Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Act, 2013, organisers should ensure that there are CCTV cameras at entry, exit and parking places of hotels, bars and restaurants. There should be adequate staff to ensure smooth traffic flow.

The notification said new year event organisers must ensure decent apparel and dance acts. There must be no obscenity or nudity in any of the performances. Sound levels should be maintained at equal or less than 45 decibels.

Organisers should not allow any firm arms into the New Year celebration venues. They must not issue excess passes or coupons for the event, which could lead to a law and order problem, police said. No minors should be permitted where couple-related programmes are being conducted.

Police warned against allowing drugs, narcotics or psychotropic substances at the place of event. Otherwise, the management will be held responsible and action taken against them. Liquor must not be served beyond the hours permitted by the Excise department.

It will be the responsibility of bars and restaurants to provide drivers to customers who are in a drunken state for reaching their destination safely.

Instructions related to fire and disaster management should be complied with, the notification added.
