SAP ready to integrate finance system in AP

It will complete three testing cycles by January 1, 2018.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with Michiel Verhoeve, SAP Asia Pacific Business Head on Wednesday, and a team from SAP-India, to discuss the Comprehensive Financial Management System (CFMS) planned for the finance wing. CFMS, once implemented, will integrate all business processes related to budgeting, expenditure, receipts, accounting, cash management and HR management.

The team said that components of the project will be finalised in the next ten days, which will be followed by assessment, testing, data migration, user training and setting up support infrastructure. They told the Chief Minister that the objective is to complete at least three testing cycles by January 1, 2018. In the next few months, the CFMS application will be rolled out to the last level offices of every department of the state.

The nodal agency for the implementation of this project is AP Centre for Financial Systems and Services (APCFSS), whose CEO, Mr. Krishnadevarayalu Vasireddy, will be coordinating with Mr Muddada Ravichandra, Special Chief Secretary (FAC). Both attended the meeting and informed the Chief Minister of the progress of CFMS.

The Chief Minister was satisfied with the progress and insisted that a strict timeline should be followed, so that the application can go live soon. The team also expressed interest in university alliances, and offered to collaborate using their specialised SAP curriculum. SAP is linked with over 1,000 universities worldwide, to contribute to skill development.

The team will meet the Chief Minister to discuss more concrete proposals in mid-December and follow up with the updates on CFMS. Amit Khandelwal SAP India - Services Head and Kuldeep Solanki SAP India - marketing executive, were present at the meeting.

Mitsubishi talks of energy storage:

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with the officials of Mitsubishi Corporation India Limited, on Wednesday, to discuss the progress of the Energy Storage System Project and their interest to invest in other sectors in Andhra Pradesh. They reported that Mitsubishi Corp. and AES (USA) jointly installed the latest energy storage system in Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) for stable power distribution.

The CM said storage is an important requirement for the state. “We are investing in thermal, hydel, gas and solar power, but storage can decrease the cost and increase the capacity of power in the state.” “The current transmission loss of power is 9.7%, but with the right infrastructure of energy storage, we can reduce it to 2-3 pc,” he added. EisukeShiozaki, chairman and managing director, and Shuhei Ando, deputy planning & coordination officer of Mitsubishi Corporation India Pvt. Ltd., explained about their experience and interest in agriculture, airport development, food processing, leasing equipment resources and electric vehicles and vehicle battery production.

In agriculture, they are interested in setting up a network for the supply of genuine pesticides and machinery for lease to SHGs and FPOs. “We are interested to outsource pesticide supply to service providers who can use drone application,” the CM said. They said they are willing to work out a proposal to use drones for soil testing, canal maintenance and other purposes. Solomon Arokia Raj, Secretary to Government (Industries & Commerce) and Hitoshi Kono, EVP & Deputy Managing Director of Isuzu were also present at the meeting.
