Helipad at Miyapur on the anvil

Hyderabad: The Central Industrial Security Force is increasing security and setting up temporary immigration checks at Begumpet airport for delegates to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES).

“We have not received instructions regarding any other dignitaries using Begumpet airport,” a source in the CISF said.

The flight of US presidential advisor, Ivanka Trump, will land at Shamshabad airport.

The state government is working on building a helipad at Miyapur and road connectivity from the helipad to Miyapur Metro Rail station where the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate the Metro.

The transport committee of the GES has finalised the route from the airports and the hotels where the delegates will be staying to the venues they will visit.

“We have conducted trial runs. We have deployed drivers and guides with good English-speaking skills from the tourism department,” said executive director, RTC Greater Hyderabad zone, A. Purushotham Naik.

The Global Entrepreneurship Summit registrations committee has made arrangements to issue passes and ID cards to the delegates.

An official from the general administration department said the committee had prepared passes for special buses and SUVs to be used to ferry the delegates.

An official from the industries department said that even the police vehicles to be deployed at airports, star hotels and at events would have car pass stickers with GES emblem.

Leaving no stone unturned

In Miyapur, nearly 200 sheds of plaster of Paris idol makers have been removed in the view of the Metro Rail inaugural.

In Golconda, local shop owners have been ordered to shut their outlets on November 28 and 29 for GES delegates.

GHMC has removed temporary structures from the footpaths along the roads leading to Golconda.

Police has installed check posts for vehicles, anti-sabotage checks have begun on the outskirts of the city and roads leading to Golconda and Falaknuma Palace.

For GES delegeates at Golconda fort, the GHMC has taken up anti-larva operations, as also at up at Katora House, Shatam talab and nearby parks.

Pochampally stoles for delegates

The 1,500 delegates attending the summit, will take home Pochampally Ikat stoles as gifts. PM Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, will be gifted a sculpture made by the artisans of TS.

The gift box of the delegates has a book describing the significance of the fabric apart from the stole. The Central and state governments have ensured that Indian culture, with special focus on traditional art and handlooms is reflected.
Pochampally Ikat is unique to TS and has been gaining popularity in domestic and international markets.
