HYDERABAD: With the fall in number of T-wallet app users, the ESD Department has been trying to attract more users by conducting a lucky draw in which 500 winners would get Rs 50 each in their wallet. The app has more than 3.47 lakh users and is the official digital wallet of Telangana state. Users of T-wallet were given such an offer in April and now in May.
According to the data available on the T-wallet dashboard, the number of users per week has been declining. In March, the user transactions hit as high as 2,587 in one week. In April, the peak users rate was reduced to 1,852. So far, in May, the maximum in a week was 1,524 users.
“This offer is one of its kind that we took up to encourage users. Cash back is not given regularly but for one time only,” G. T. Venkateshwar Rao, IRS, Commissioner ESD, said. “While the amount is not high, there is no associated credit card or debit card transaction cost unlike other private wallets,” he said.
