Vastu worries delay construction works of temporary secretariat in Amaravati

Ministers objected to chambers not complying with Vastu.

Amaravati: Modification of chambers according to Vastu has delayed the functioning of the temporary secretariat.

The state government had originally planned to have all departments function from the temporary secretariat from the last week of this month. However, things changed with the ministers objecting to their chambers not complying with Vastu.

The contractors have started demolishing the old chambers to build new ones, delaying the full functioning of the temporary secretariat.

According to sources, ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, B. Gopalakrishna Reddy, P. Pulla Rao, K. Srinivasa Rao, Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, K. Mrunalini, K. Achennaidu, Ravela Kishore Babu and others are reluctant to occupy their chambers.

These ministers, after visiting the chambers in 2, 3, 4 and 5 buildings of temporary secretariat several times, have expressed their dissatisfaction, saying the 100 feet-chamber is very small and tiny and against the principles of vastu.

They said that these are not minister’s chambers / peshis but look like sales companies. They lodged complaints with CRDA vice-president and minister for municipal administration P. Narayana and then with Chief Minister N.

Chandrababu Naidu who ordered that the chambers be modified.

A senior TD leader on condition of anonymity said that the designs of ministers peshis “are very good and comfortable” with a waiting room for visitors. However the ministers who believe in Vastu have asked for spacious chambers on the suggestions of Vastu pundits.

Already, the government has spent Rs 700 crore on the temporary secretariat. Now the modification will incre-ase the expenditure.

The demolition process has started in the second building of the temporary secretariat complex, at the finance minister’s chamber. The engineers have marked for demolition chambers, toilets, bathrooms and reconstruction of chambers in 2, 3, 4, and 5 blocks. Work is progressing in the five blocks. According to reports, the ministers will get at least 225 feet Vastu compliance chambers.

Minister Narayana said the chambers of ministers seemed very small. So, modification was started as per the wishes of the ministers and soon the temporary secretariat will become fully functional.
