Bengaluru: With Karnataka securing a 95.56 pass percentage, lower than Telangana, Goa, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, in the CBSE class XII results announced on Saturday, the state has slipped to fifth position from last year’s third in the Chennai region.
But the girls, who appeared for the examination, have done better with a 96.71 pass percentage, while the boys managed only a 94.63 pass percentage. As many as 4,001 of the 4,137 girls and 4,830 of the 5,104 boys who appeared for the examination cleared it.
In all, 9,241 students appeared for the examination in Karnataka. Digital mark sheets: Starting this year, the CBSE is providing digital mark sheets for Class XII in a DigiLocker account at https://digilocker.gov.in <https://digilocker.gov.in/> . Its credentials will be sent to students through SMSes on their mobile numbers registered with the CBSE.
Tele-counselling
The CBSE launched a Tele-Helpline on Saturday to counsel students. Available till June 4, it will be manned by 63 experts including principals, trained counsellors from CBSE affiliated government and private schools and a few psychologists. While 51 of these experts are from India, 12 are from Nepal, Saudi Arabia , Oman, UAE and Kuwait among other places.
I studied on a daily basis for three to four hours. I referred only NCERT textbook as I felt it was more than enough to score well in the examination. I was also preparing for JEE examination, which also helped me secured good percentage in the CBSE. I am planning to take up a career in Aerospace and hope to get into IIT Chennai or Bombay. I will also be taking up my senior level Carnatic music exams soon.
