Transfer: Munish Moudgil has the last laugh

Deccan Chronicle had published the circustances behind his transfer.

Bengaluru: Senior IAS officer, Munish Moudgil who was transferred out of Bengaluru following the submission of a report on a fellow IAS officer, has been reinstated in his previous post as Commissioner Survey and Settlement.

As Deccan Chronicle had reported, Mr Moudgil had last week, submitted a report to revenue department and sent a copy of that report to the Anti-Corruption Bureau seeking criminal action IAS officer, V. Shankar who had reportedly favoured an individual to take possession of land valued at over Rs 200 crore. Hours after he submitted the report, he was transferred out of Bengaluru and posted as Director General Administrative Training and Reforms.

Deccan Chronicle had published the circustances behind his transfer.

Sources in the government told this newspaper that the BJP government was reportedly nudged by the party central unit, not to sideline or transfer honest and upright officiails like Mr Moudgil.

The Deccan Chronicle report on the Moudgil transfer had reached the party central leadership after which many other newspapers published reports on this episode. Only after the party central leadership's caution, was Mr Moudgil reinstated, sources said.
