Karwar: Metro Bikes, a mobile app that offers two-wheelers on hire, would be available for tourists visiting Karwar and Gokarna.
Officials said the service is being introduced for the first time in tourism field at Uttara Kannada district and initially 70 bikes would be provided in Karwar and Gokarna. Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner S.S. Nakul said the service would be available within two months. Users will have to provide details like Aadhaar number while availing the service. A password would be generated which has to be entered in the keypad of the bike to open the hand lock and ignite the engine. After the ride the money would be deducted from the account. Officials said the service would cost Rs 5 per kilometre.
