My son fell prey to Blue Whale, says victim mother

The town north police station officials here said that they would inquire into the revelations of the woman.

Palakkad: The ‘Blue Whale’ game seems to have ensnared more victims in Kerala than thought otherwise. The mother of a B.Com student has alleged that her son Ashik, 20, who committed suicide on March 30, had fallen prey to the online killer game. Ashik had completed his course from Victoria College. His mother Kulathingal Asmabhi of Pirayiri residing in the north police station limits said that Ashik who was doing exceptionally well in academics had got addicted to mobile phone and had shown the behaviour of a game victim as revealed in recent reports.

“He used to go to the cemetery at night, had tried to jump from atop the house and clicked photos with blood dropping from his hands by staying near the sea and a waterlogged quarry,” Asmabhi told mediapersons on Saturday. The son and the mother lived in a two-room house in a one-and-a-half-cent plot. The house was built with the help of the local people. She said there were no issues in the family except a quarrel she had with him over cutting his hair. “He had deleted most of the photos from the mobile phone before he hanged himself to death in the house on March 30,” she added. The town north police station officials here said that they would inquire into the revelations of the woman.
