Hyderabad: Miyapur police conducted a cordon and search operation early on Saturday morning in the Miyapur police station limits.
A total of 220 police officials including DCP Madhapur, 2 ACPs, inspectors, sub-inspectors and constables participated in the search operation. The search was carried out under the guidance of A. Venkateshwar Rao, DCP of Madhapur. The drill started at 3 am and went on till 5 am.
“We checked houses and vehicles as a part of the operation. As many as 500 houses were searched in the Premnagar area and we took nine people into custody for having the saved contact number of known criminals,” said inspector Harishchandra Reddy of Miyapur police station.
Officials also detained 67 two-wheelers, 26 autorickshaws and two cars for not having proper documents.
