Hyderabad: A memorandum of settlement between electricity employees and the managements of power utilities was finalized at the labour department on Wednesday.
The agreement was signed by both parties in the presence of the joint labour commissioner, thus avoiding the strike.
Following the agreement between employees and the managements on April 15 over a 7 per cent hike in salaries and other demands, the memorandum of settlement was finalized under the Industrial Disputes Act on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, J.C.L. Shyamsunder Reddy said that a memorandum of settlement was finalized over the hike of salaries of electricity employees and artisans.
“Action will be initiated under Essential Services Maintenance Act, if any employee or union calls for strike”, he said.
TSPEJAC, TSEEJAC representatives from employees, Transco JMD C. Srinivasa Rao, and directors from the managements signed over the memorandum.
