Ramamohana Rao sworn in as judge of Madras High Court

With his appointment, the total number of judges has gone up to 42 as against the sanctioned strength of 75.

Chennai: Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao, who was transferred from the Andhra Pradesh high court on Monday sworn in as judge of the Madras high court. Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul administered the oath of office to Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao at a simple function held on the premises of the Madras high court.

Advocate general A L. Somayaji delivered the welcome address. Chairman of Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry D. Selvam and presidents of various advocates association welcomed the new judge.

With his appointment, the total number of judges has gone up to 42 as against the sanctioned strength of 75. Hailing from Tanuku of West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao enrolled as an advocate on August 31, 1978. He was appointed as additional judge of the Andhra Pradesh high court on September 11, 2006 and made as a permanent judge on April 10, 2008.
