Hyderabad cop repairs road, helps residents

There was a gap between this road and the footpath at JJ Nagar near Nedermet which was causing inconvenience to the general public.

Hyderabad: While the whole city was busy celebrating Ugadi festival in Hyderabad, traffic Home Guard Officer Sai Reddy from Malkajgiri area was seen filling potholes at JJ Nagar ‘U’ turn near Nerdmet to ensure free flow of traffic and for the safety of road users.

There was a gap between this road and the footpath at JJ Nagar near Nedermet which was causing inconvenience to the general public. To facilitate the general public and commuters this cop decided to clear the road by filling the potholes even on a festival day.

Traffic C.L. Praveen Kumar Malkajgiri said, “The gap between this road and footpath was creating lot of inconvenience to the commuters so we had written several letters to the GHMC officials. However, they could not solve the issue as they were planning to rebuild a new read instead of doing this small repair. So we had decided to repair the road to avoid inconvenience to the general public.”

He added, “Our Home Guard Officer Sai Reddy himself took the decision to repair the road by arranging all material and filling up the potholes. We are proud of Sai Reddy as he did not wait for tomorrow to repair the road despite today being a festival day.”
