Nellore: Pournami Garuda Seva on February 22

Special attraction is Nagara Sankeertana by troupes.

Nellore: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) under the instructions of TTD EO D. Sambasiva Rao is making innovative initiatives during every Pournami Garuda Seva at Tirumala and this time the special attraction is the Nagara Sankeertana by Bhajana Mela troupes.

A review meeting in this regard was held in his chambers by TTD Tirupati JEO P. Bhaskar at TTD administrative building in Tirupati on Thursday evening.

He said the Pournami Garuda Seva is slated for February 22, and over 100 Bhajan Mela troupes, with over 2,000 members, which are hailing from Guntur and Krishna districts, will take part in this religious fete at Tirumala.

"Initially, the procession will start from Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple in Tirupati on the same day morning at 5 am. These bhajan troupes will trek the Alipiri footpath and later assemble for the meeting at Asthana Mandapam in the evening between 3 pm and 6 pm. Later, they will take part in the Magha Pournami Garuda Seva which is between 7 pm and 9 pm," he added.

Adding further, he said, on February 21 there will be a meeting with Bhajan troupes in TTD Govinda Raja Swamy Chowltry in Tirupati by the top brass authorities of the TTD at 10 am. On the same day evening the troupes will perform Nagara Sankeertana in Tiruchanoor.

He has instructed the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishat (HDPP), reception, vigilance and engineering wings to make necessary arrangements in this regard.

It may be mentioned here that during last month, TTD has organised Visesha Veda Parayanam on January 24 in a big way with over 1,500 Vedic scholars who are the beneficiaries under TTD's Veda Parayanam Scheme which won accolades across the country.

This month, the Nagara Sankeertana by Bhajana Mela troupes will play an added attraction to the Garuda Vahana Seva. HDPP secretary Prayaga Ramakrishna, SE3 Sudhakar Rao, additional CVSO Sivakumar Reddy and others were present.
