Hyderabad: Consumer activists and power experts requested the TS Electricity Regulatory Commission to ensure that the tariff burden is less when it finalises tariff for solar power in connection with 60MW solar energy park at Zaheerabad.
At a public hearing on the plant being set up by Enrich Energy, Mr M. Venugopal Rao of the Centre For Power Development said the Rs 6.49 per unit suggested by TS Southern Discom was on the higher side as the Centre is willing to sell solar power at Rs 4.50 per unit. He urged the commission to look at the market where competitive bidding was bringing down the price to less than Rs 4.50.
