Don't pressurise students: DGP Nanduri Sambasiva Rao to parents, colleges

He said instead of psychologically stressing the students, parents should try to create interest towards academics in their children.

Vijayawada: DGP Nanduri Sambasiva Rao has appealed to the parents not to pressurise children with regard to their education. He said instead of psychologically stressing the students, parents should try to create interest towards academics in their children. He suggested that the college managements and lecturers prepare schedules that do not put pressure on the students.

Mr Sambasiva Rao was addressing mediapersons here on Monday. HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao was also present. The DGP said each police station would adopt one school and transform it into a model school. As part of Swachh Bharat programme, 10 schools in every district would be equipped with basic infrastructure.

Minister Srinivasa Rao said students were committing suicides due to stress and suggested that parents should not expect too much from their children. He said the colleges too should stop overburdening the students. The DGP and the minister visited schools in Atmakur and Pedda Vadlapudi villages in Mangalagiri constituency and interacted with the students. Later, the DGP participated in Swachh Bharat Programme at Etukuru ZP High School in Guntur district. He promised of providing support to the families of the police martyrs.
