OOTY: Mr .Al.Rm. Nagappan, has become the president of the United Planters Association of South India (UPASI), headquartered at Coonoor, for 2019-2020.
A coffee planter by profession, Mr. Nagappan has been in the coffee industry from 1982. He is an active member and is rich in experience in the planting industry.
With a long-standing involvement with the plantation sector, he served as Chairman of Codagu Planters' Association during 2000-2001, after which he served in the Karnataka Planters' Association as a committee member and went on to become its Chairman in 2004 -2005. He was a committee member of UPASI and its Coffee Committee Chairman for five years, and now has been elected as the President of UPASI.
Mr.Prashant Bhansali, CEO of Kairbetta Estates in Nilgiris, has been elected as Vice President of UPASI for the year 2019-20.
