Tirupati: Novel protest held for vet dispensary

Students of Veterinary College continued their protest on Friday by begging outside their college campus.

TIRUPATI: Students of Veterinary College continued their protest on Friday by begging outside their college campus. The protests have been going on for the last 16 days, demanding the government to update all the rural livestock units to veterinary dispensaries. There are about 1,000 students studying graduation and post-graduation courses in the three veterinary colleges in the state. There are about 300 passed out students, who remained job less.

Rural Livestock Units are maintained by veterinary assistants. The upgrading of these units to veterinary dispensaries will help the assistant surgeons, who complete their graduation to be posted in those dispensaries. Speaking to media persons, Mr Avinash P. said, "There are about 1,500 live stock units in the state, the upgradation of all these units will help all the course pursuing students to earn jobs. The government said that they will upgrade them in a phased manner and later forgot about it. If the government didn't respond properly, then we will take the protest to next level".
