Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has suggested to the departments not to ask for additional budget.

Vijayawada: Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has suggested to the departments not to ask for additional budget, in the first quarter of the financial year itself. The FM made it clear to the officials that the additional budget will be considered in the last quarter of the fiscal year only. Addressing the second day pre-Budget meeting of various departments at Secretariat on Friday, the FM has explained that as per the demands and requirements, a facility has been extended to the departments to utilise the funds allocated for other projects.

However, the FM has clarified that the funds allocated for the standard assets can't be diverted to revenue expenditure. Funds for the common schemes could be released as per the ratio, the FM said. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for IT, PR&RD-Nara Lokesh said that 80 per cent CC roads have been completed in gram panchayats. Over Rs 430 crore funds have been spent for this purpose, Mr Lokesh added. He also said that water schemes are being designed keeping in view the growing population for 25 years.
