Uber cab drivers in Hyderabad object to new two-wheel taxis

They said with the arrival of bike-taxis, they will suffer a loss in their business as has happened in Goa and also in Haryana.

Hyderabad: Uber cab drivers held a protest at its head office in Jubilee Hills opposing the decision to introduce two-wheeler taxis.

Tension prevailed at Jubilee Hills Road No. 44 as the drivers tried to halt the newly arrived two-wheeler taxis.

They said with the arrival of bike-taxis, they will suffer a loss in their business as has happened in Goa and also in Haryana.

Jubilee Hills Police controlled the striking mob and convinced the irate drivers that halting the general traffic was not the right way to register one’s grievances.

Inspector S. Venkat Reddy said that cab drivers later moved to Uber’s office where they continued their protest.

“No case was registered against drivers,” he said.
