ADILABAD: A walkathon was organised on the Basar IIIT campus on Sunday as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme. The programme was flagged off by in-charge vice-chancellor Prof. Venkata Ramana and was attended by students, faculty members, and staff.
The walkathon started from the Shatavana ground and ended at the Eco-park on the campus. Nearly 1,500 students participated in the rally, carrying national flags.
Prof. Venkata Ramana said that the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme was organised to mark the occasion of Azadika Amruth Mahostav, which is the 76th Independence Day of India. He said that the programme was aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of patriotism and nationalism among the students.
He also said that the university had sold 200 national flags through the post office located on the campus and that collector Varun Reddy had sent 500 national flags to the students
