Kerala CM visits flood victims in Wayanad

Addressing the review meeting of relief measured held at Kalpetta, here, Mr Vijayan he also assured providing speedy assistance.

Kozhikode: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who visited the district on Saturday assured all support to those affected by monsoon fury. He also promised Rs 4 lakh each for those who lost houses and Rs 6 lakh for those who lost both land and house. Addressing the review meeting of relief measured held at Kalpetta, here, Mr Vijayan he also assured providing speedy assistance.

Pinarayi Vijayan also visited relief camp at Munderi School and directed the officials to take steps for providing lost documents like ration cards, land documents and educational certificates. He also directed all department heads to provide details on the needs of victims.

He landed at the helipad at St Mary's College ground, Sulthan Bathery, He travelled by road to Kalpetta where he participated in the review meeting. Chief Minister went to Kozhikode by helicopter to visit the relief camps.

He was accompanied by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, chief secretary Tom Jose, DGP Loknath Behera and revenue secretary PH Kurian.
